Senseless violence has blighted our streets for far too long.Over recent weeks, we have seen police officers attacked while simply doing their jobs. And tragically, one police officer was killed in the line of duty.

An election leaflet blunder saw Labour’s Batley East incumbent, Mahmood Akhtar, deliver leaflets to residents which accused the Tories of “s******* on us to fund tax cuts for the wealthy and giant corporations.”

The association AGM was held on the 27th March at Healds Hall Hotel. The meeting was well attended with Paul Taylor (Association President) chairing the meeting. The constituency report and the accounts for the previous year were presented and approved.

The Conservative Councillors for Birstall and Birkenshaw, Robert Light, Liz Smaje and Andrew Palfreeman today launched a campaign to save Birstall from the cuts threatened by the Labour Cabinet in Kirklees.
